Femi Branch charged to Lagos court over dud cheque of N1.5m

Nollywood actor Femi Branch was charged to the Ikeja Magistrate court recently over reportedly issuing a dud cheque to De Santo Hotel in Ikeja. The dud cheque was for N1.5m.

A source reportedly close to the story said the famous Yoruba actor stayed in the hotel for months and issued a dud cheque.

When this happened the management of De Santo Hotel went to the police and lodged a complaint. The actor was arrested and charged to Ikeja magistrate court 1 on the 20 of November, 2015.

He was granted a bail of N500,000 due to self-recognition. In the court ruling, Femi Branch was remanded in Kirikiri Prison until he could fulfill his bail condition.

According to reports it took some weeks for the actor to meet his bail condition. After he was bailed, Femi Branch hosted the Best of Nollywood award in Ondo state.

His case has been adjourned to January 6, 2016.
